| Description |
The 55th separate operational and technical commandant's office of the Space Forces Headquarters was created in September 2003. Military unit 52478 was located in the Krasnogorsk region, in the village of Pavshino, at the intersection of Ilyinskoye and Volokolamsk highways, on the territory of military units 03353 (communication and information transmission center) and 73570 (directorate for commissioning RKO facilities).
Combat Purpose: The unit's primary mission was to provide internal service to the headquarters of the Space Forces, technical supervision of the condition of buildings and premises of the headquarters, and operational work with headquarters units in logistics support. The unit also included an automobile company operating the vehicle fleet of the Space Forces Command. Operations: Military personnel of the unit went on daily duty to the facility "Rokot", where they carried out their duties under the guidance of commandant's office officers. In the vehicle fleet, soldiers and sergeants operated and repaired equipment, with a permanent daily squad serving in the unit. Officers of the unit were graduates of specialized universities with higher education, contributing to high discipline and strong political work results. Service Record: Several hundred soldiers completed military service at the unit between 2003 and 2009, and dozens of officers began their military careers there. The command repeatedly recognized the unit as the best unit in the operational services of the Space Forces. By order of the Minister of Defense, military unit 52478 was disbanded in December 2009 as a result of Army reduction and military reforms. After disbandment, units of military unit 26302 and a scientific company of the Aerospace Defense Forces were located on the territory. |
