| Description | DCF77 is a longwave time signal and standard-frequency radio station. It is operated by the Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt (PTB), the national metrology institute of Germany, and is located in Mainflingen, about 25 km (16 mi) south-east of Frankfurt am Main. The transmitter continuously broadcasts time signals, which are used for synchronizing clocks and watches, as well as for other applications requiring precise timekeeping. | ||||
